When is the 2020 Conference?

  • While there will be some modifications to the schedule over time, take a look at our draft schedule and note the date and time.

What if I can't come to the conference after all, and I haven't yet registered?

  • We understand that students may need to cancel for a variety of reasons. We would appreciate cancellations be received as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, March 3. Send cancellations to  Nathalie Waldschmidt at



How do I register for the conference and what are the Registration fees?

  • Click here to register for the conference. You may pay by check or credit card.

  • By March 2, 2020: Early Bird Registration Rate: $295 per person

  • By March 20, 2020: Regular Registration Rate: $320 per person

  • On-Site Registration Rate: $395 per person

  • NRHC cannot process refunds or cancellations for conference registrations. The only exception to this is if a registration needs to be cancelled within 24 hours of registration; in this case a full refund will be issued, less a $20 fee per registration. Send your immediate cancellation request to with registration ID number(s).

  • After this 24-hour period, all registrations are final and refunds are not possible. Therefore, members are urged to find replacement attendees. Updated attendee info can be forwarded to Make sure to include the registration ID number(s) and the new attendee name(s) and any changes in dietary restrictions.


Hotel Information

Where will the conference be held and what are the room rates?

  • The conference will be held at the Hilton Albany, 40 Lodge Street.

  • Conference rates: $179 per night, single to quad.

  • Self parking: a reduced rate of $11 per night.


How do I register the hotel rooms?

  • You may either register online or by phone. You may call 1-866-691-1183 and give group code: 4RHC to get the agreed upon rate.  Reservations will be accepted until the cut-off date: 3/12/20. Reservations can be made 24 hours a day

City As Text

What is City As Text?

  • On the Friday of the conference, conference goers are free to explore the city.  The conference provides possible routes for you to explore, focusing on a particular aspect of the city.  We also provide reflection questions for you to think about as you encounter a new place. It's not a guided tour.

What are the options?

  • Take a look at the options here. 

  • We encourage you to discuss the different options with the people who are going with you.

How do I sign up?

  • When you register for the conference, you will be asked your City As Text preference.

  • Please write down what you said or save the receipt in case you forget your preference.

Student Involvement

I’m a student and I would like to join the events committee. How do I do that?

  • Fill out an application and wait for a response.

  • Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

  • Email Taylor Bennett ( or Bryan Pimentel (, this year’s student reps, with questions.

What are the specifications for the program cover contest?

  • Submissions should illustrate, exemplify, interpret and embody our theme (Finding Your Voice: Speaking Truth to Power).

  • Submit designs to Dr. Irina Ellison  by Feb. 14th, 2020.

  • Design specifications: 

    • 11” x 17” 2-page spread, four-color (CMYK color mode) full bleed art work.

    • Front cover: (right-hand side of layout) Northeast Regional Honors Council Conference, logo (front or back), title of conference Finding Your Voice: Speaking Truth to Power, location of conference (Albany, New York), and dates of conference (April 2 – 5, 2020).

    • Back cover: an extension of front, or completely different image, name of the artist.
